The years fly by, the children change overnight, and somehow you’re always the one taking the photos.
My family sessions are all about capturing what the current moment feels like. Yes, we’ll create a few gently guided portraits you’ll want to frame, but I’m just as interested in the in-between moments too: the cuddles, giggles, hand-holding, and the way your child leans into you without thinking.
Whether you’d love a calm studio session in Dartford or something more outdoorsy and playful, I’ll make the whole experience relaxed and easy from start to finish.

I’ll guide you when you need it, but I’ll never force stiff poses or fake smiles. I’m looking for connection, as these are the truly magical shots.
Studio or on-location options
If you’d like timeless, distraction-free portraits, my studio in Dartford is perfect. If you’d prefer something more adventurous, we can shoot outdoors at a park, beach, or even your own home – wherever your family feels most at ease.
A mix of classic portraits and real moments
We’ll capture the “everyone looking at the camera” shots… and then the moments that happen in between, when you forget I’m even there.
Family-friendly guidance
Not sure what to do with your hands? Worried the kids won’t sit still? You’re not alone. I’ll give you simple prompts, gentle direction, and a calm experience that helps everyone settle in.
The Family Photography Experience
Before Your Session
Once you book, I’ll share simple guidance to help you feel prepared, including what to wear and how to choose colours that photograph beautifully.
If you’ve chosen an outdoor shoot, we’ll also plan the best location and timing (especially helpful if you have little ones who need naps).
During Your Session
Family sessions are relaxed and playful. I’ll start with a few gently guided portraits, then we’ll shift into natural interaction – cuddling, laughing, and letting your children be themselves.
If your little one needs a break, that’s absolutely fine. I work at your pace, and I’m very used to children who need time to warm up.
After Your Session
Within around two weeks, you’ll receive a lovingly edited private gallery to view and choose your favourite images.
Your final images are delivered in high-resolution digital format, ready for printing, sharing, and framing. You can also choose to purchase prints directly.

Family Photography FAQ
Where do family photoshoots take place?
You can choose between my studio in Dartford, Kent, or an outdoor/on-location session – perhaps at a park, or even your own home – wherever your family feels most comfortable.
What if my children won’t sit still or smile?
That’s completely normal, and honestly, it’s expected. I work with gentle prompts and a relaxed approach that lets children be children. Some of the best images come from movement, curiosity, and laughter.
What should we wear?
I’ll send simple guidance when you book, but as a starting point: neutral tones and soft, coordinated colours photograph beautifully. It’s also best to avoid large logos or bold patterns.
How long does a family session take?
Usually around 1–2 hours, depending on your chosen location and the ages of your children. I allow time for everyone to settle in, so it never feels rushed.
Can we include grandparents or extended family?
Yes, absolutely. If you’re planning a larger group, just let me know when you enquire so I can advise on what will work best.
